Norton Healthcare's Church and Health Ministrie

Norton Healthcare's Church and Health Ministries online newsletter, published bi-monthly, has announced several workshops for the upcoming weeks that may interest parish nurses and others in our diocese.

Church and Health Ministries' workshop Accessing Community Resources, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 10. This workshop will explain community resources available to meet many social service needs of church members. Seven different organizations will provide valuable, practical information. GuardiaCare Services has teamed with the Auerbach School of Occupational Therapy to provide programs for caregivers in a flexible on-line format.  Caregiver University On-line is offered free of charge to any person acting as caregiver to a senior age 60 or older, who lives in KIPDA’s seven-county service region. The Parish Nurse Support Group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. This group is open to all who are involved or interested in health services to their church.

The Catholic Diocese of Lexington is hosting a workshop retreat: Parish Health Ministries: Why Do You Do What You Do? from 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at the Cliffview Retreat Center. An Introduction to Centering Prayer will be presented on Saturday, May 10 at 1908 Tyler Lane. For more information or to register, call (502) 451-1738.
 
A save the date note: The Office of Church and Health Ministries will host a retreat day for parish nurses on Friday, May 30.
