Construction of St. Luke's Chapel has begun
by Mike Bowles, Episcopal Church Home
Construction of the new St. Luke's Chapel has begun at the Episcopal Church Home with excavation for the foundation of the roughly 3600 square foot building. Construction on the chapel, which will be connected to the Lyndon Lane side of the home, is expected to be completed in early 2009. Work is being performed under General Contractor FW Owens Co. and K. Norman Berry Associates Architects PLLC. When finished, this specially designed chapel will accommodate over 200 persons with varying degrees of physical and mental challenges.
A fund drive to build a new St. Luke's Chapel has been underway. Only $800,000 remains to be raised on a $3.65 million goal; active campaigning for additional gifts will continue throughout 2008. To make a contribution of cash or appreciated securities to the campaign for a new St. Luke's Chapel, contact Mike Bowles at the Home, 736-7816 or mikeb@echky.org.
