In January, the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky and the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky will co-sponsor a series of lectures by Dr. Diana Butler Bass based on her books The Practicing Congregation: Imagining a New Old Church and Christianity for the Rest of Us. Bass is an expert in American religion, author, speaker and independent scholar. She is the author of six books and numerous articles dealing with mainline Christianity in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Her book Episcopalians in America is scheduled for publication in 2008. The Friday evening lecture, open only to clergy, will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. (ET) at Christ Church Episcopal Catheral, 421. Second St., Louisville. She will share insights from her book, The Practicing Congregation. Saturday's lectures, open to everyone, will focus on the book Christianity for the Rest of Us. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 1044 Alta Vista Road. |

The cost for clergy will be $10 for the Friday evening lecture and $25 for both events. The cost for attending only the Saturday event will be $20. Pre-registration is required because space is limited. Registration may be done online now. |
