Loading...An acolyte festival for the Diocese of Kentucky will be held Sunday, Feb. 3. The all-day event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EST) at Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville.
The event is being organized by two Louisville priests: the Rev. Dr. Jerry Cappel, rector of Resurrection Church, and the Rev. Dr. Charles Hawkins, rector of St. Mark’s Church. Although they have ideas for workshops, they want input from our diocese’s acolytes, vergers and clergy.
Here is a list of possible workshops. Are these what your churches need? Do you have other ideas?

3. The Rite Stuff I: The Service of the Eucharist (Assisting in the Eucharist)
4. The Rite Stuff II: The Service of the Word (Processions, Crucifers, Torchbearers, Gospellers)
5. The Rite Stuff III: Holy Week and Easter (All Those Special Services)
6. The Care and Nurture of Acolytes (For Vergers, Acolyte Masters, Leaders)
7. Hands and Knees, Gesture and Posture: What to Do with Your Body in Worship
8. The Ancient Art of Worship: History of Where All this Stuff Came From
