Author Greg Garrett will preach on Sunday, July 19 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Louisville

Garrett penned We’ve Got to Carry Each Other: The Gospel according to U2 among other works.

According to a recent article in the Courier-Journal newspaper, the Baylor University English professor argues in his book "that the band — and many of its fans — are on a quest for religious meaning, and talks about how U2's social activism has furthered the cause of peace in Ireland, debt relief for developing nations, and the AIDS fight."

Garrett will preach at the 11 a.m. service at St. Andrew's, which is located at 2233 Woodbourne Ave., and will also sign books and answer questions before the service between 10:15 and 10:45 a.m. and during the coffee hour after the service.

On Friday evening, July 15, the author will have a book signing at Carmichael's bookstore in Crescent Hill.
