Loading...Friends of St. George’s Community Center will have an opportunity to show their support just by eating and drinking, and even watching a little U of L basketball if they wish, at Louisville's O'Shea's Irish Pub on Feb. 1.
Between 11 a.m. and midnight (ET), O'Shea's, located at 956 Baxter Ave., will donate 100 percent of food and drink proceeds to support the community center, which has served Parkland, Park-Hill and California neighborhood youth for 44 years. All support for the center helps to fund cutting-edge and creative programming that launch youth into flights of self-discovery.
“We are thankful to O’Shea’s for giving St. George’s this opportunity to showcase its nationally recognized programs like Freedom School, where reading becomes reality,” said Arthur Cox, St. George's executive director.
Summer and after-school enrichment programs of St. George’s Community Center help youth fall in love with reading, increase self-esteem and generate more positive attitudes towards learning.
Cardinals fans can watch U of L on play Connecticut on the big screen at O’Shea’s, beginning at 7 p.m., and St. George’s Community Center will give away an autographed basketball by Coach Rick Pitino. Dining reservations will be accepted. Pre-ordered box lunches are available and can be delivered for a fee. Bring your family and friends for fantastic food and fun while supporting a great cause.
