"Leadership Marks for Creating and Growing Vital Congregations," a conference sponsored by Province IV's Congregational Development and Evangelism Network, will be offered this Spring and Fall at three Episcopal conference centers in the province. The conference workshops will address the concern of many church leaders to "create a leadership culture" within every congregation (and diocese) by equipping clergy and laity with skills proven to be key to the guidance and development of ministry.
Conferences will meet April 29 to May 1 at Canterbury Conference Center near Orlando in the Diocese of Central Florida and June 9-11 at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville in the Diocese of Western North Carolina. Details about the third conference were not available.
"Vital congregations live out their mission when their leaders empower everyone," says the Rev. Arnold A. Bush, coordinator of Province IV Congregational Development and Evangelism Network. Bush also said, "The 12 workshops we designed will focus on five 'Leadership Marks' identified in Gallup research. Practical tools and effective programs used in dioceses will also be shared."
