Loading...Sixteen individuals, including one person from the Diocese of Southern Ohio and one person from the Diocese of Indianapolis, participated in Education for Ministry (EFM) mentor training at All Saints Conference Center August 4-6.
Participants in the Basic group were the Rev. Mary Abrams (Resurrection, Louisville), The Rev. Emily S. Crouch (St. Matthew’s, Louisville), Judith Donahue (Christ Church Cathedral, Louisville), Katherine Doyle (St. Mark’s, Louisville), the Rev. Meghan Holland (Grace, Paducah), Emily Jobe (St. George’s, Dayton, Ohio), Sally Lambert (Calvary, Louisville) and Jim Long (St. Alban’s, Indianapolis). Group members developed skills for leading a theological reflection, a method that helps EFM seminar members to think theologically, integrating their own beliefs and their relationship to culture and tradition in order to further develop their ministry as Christians. The trainer was the Rev. Bud Holland Jr.
Participants in the Formation group were Nancy Black (Grace, Paducah), Susan Crouch (Christ Church, Bowling Green), Callie Hausman (Calvary, Louisville), Jay Hendrick (St. Andrew’s, Louisville), Laurie Joyce (Christ Church, Bowling Green), the Rev. Moray Peoples (Holy Trinity, Brandenburg), Sally Proctor (Grace, Paducah) and Denise Rivers (St. Andrew’s, Louisville). Group members spent time reflecting on their own sense of vocation and call, and learning ways in which they could strengthen the sense of vocation and call of the participants in their EfM groups. The trainer was the Rev. Dr. Richard Guentert.
A person who wishes to become an EFM mentor must attend a training session and be accredited as a mentor. Mentors must renew their accreditation every 18 months by attending training to remain active. There are currently 14 EFM groups in the diocese. For more information, contact the Rev.
