Loading...The Peace Education Program in Louisville has planned a one-day workshop this month that will teach participants some pretty cool-sounding games of cooperation for youngsters and a three-day institute developing skills in conflict resolution, mediation and prejudice reduction that our church leaders and volunteers may want to take back to their congregations.
Cooperative Games Day
On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the Cooperative Games Day Workshop will be devoted to teaching cooperative games such as Giants, Wizards and Elves, Rattlesnake and Alien Slime that participants can take back to their school, community center, place of worship, youth group, scout troop and even their family.
The workshop costs $45, which includes written material and a boxed lunch. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 40.

Community Institute
The three-day Community Institute for youth workers, social workers, educators, religious and community leaders will be October 26 - 28 at 318 W. Kentucky St. in downtown Louisville. Sessions will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (EDT) each day.
The institute provides hands on training in interpersonal conflict resolution, the mediation process and prejudice reduction skills and also offers participants an opportunity to share triumphs and concerns. The fee is $250 for one person or $225 each for a team of two or more. Pre-registration is required. Continental breakfast and lunch provided as well as training materials.
