Loading...The World Peace Coffeehouse will offer an opportunity to hear and reflect upon eracistic music, that is, as musician Michael Kessler describes it, music "designed to generate a love for the planet as patriotic songs do for a 'country'" (Our Global Nation website).
Kessler and two other accomplished musicians, John Gage and Misha Feigin, will be performing at the coffeehouse from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, May 21, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 330 330 N. Hubbards Lane, Louisville. A $5 donation is a requested.
Kessler, a guitarist who, according to his website coined the term “eracism" (loyalty to the earth), has written and lectured since 1977 on "the positive future of a global nation." He has produced a documentary, The History of the Future; a CD of his music, The Solar Age; and a book, History of the Future. He also hosted a television series, Archimedes Lever.
Misha Feigin, a native of Moscow, is known as one of Russian’s premier guitarists, and in America he has been featured on the public radio program Mountain Stage. He also has opened for musician Leo Kottke and has shared the stage with Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary.
John Gage, a folk singer and songwriter, is well known in the Louisville area as host of the Kentucky Homefront radio show on WFPK and as director of performing arts at the Kentucky Theater.
