Loading...Members of Presbyterian, Episcopal, Jewish and U of L faith communities recently celebrated the completion of the Habitat for Humanity house they helped build.
Known as the Interfaith Community House, the home is located at 2965 Dumesnil Street in western Louisville. Under construction since October, the house is billed as the Interfaith Community House because of the number of faiths involved in this project. Half the money needed to build the home was donated by the builders' faith communities, and the other half was donated from the Habitat funds. St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church co-ordinates the lunches for the workers each week.
St. Thomas Church has been able to give $2,000 each year from the proceeds of its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper. This year's supper will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, March 8, at St. Thomas at 9616 Westport Road in eastern Louisville.
