[Memphis, Tenn.] Bishop Terry White and his wife, Linda Sue, attended the eighth annual conference for recently elected bishops hosted by the Episcopal Church's College for Bishops. The conference was held Monday, January 17, through Friday, January 21 at the Roslyn Conference Center in Richmond, Va.
Eleven other bishops and bishops-elect who were elected during 2010 and their spouses gathered for worship and fellowship to discuss topics ranging from transitions and leadership development to family life and research on the roles and expectations of partners or spouses.
Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and her spouse Richard Schori participated on January 20, leading a plenary conversation touching on their lives as bishop and spouse.
The conference's primary purpose is to allow time for the participants to build community as a class and to assist them in examining inherent transition issues as they experience a new location, new expectations and new responsibilities.
