Loading...This year's annual parish administrators luncheon, to be held on Tuesday, April 28, will feature "Taking Control of Your Health" by Libby Miller, assistant vice president of the Episcopal Church Trust who travels to dioceses and conferences to speak on how we can be proactive in taking control of our health.
The annual luncheon is hosted by the Diocese of Kentucky as a way to recognize the hard work done by administrators and staff members in Episcopal congregations throughout the diocese. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET) at Christ Church Cathedral, 425 S. Second St., Louisville.
Last year's Wellness Program received great enthusiasm, so the diocesan staff decided to continue that theme and invited this year's speaker. Miller travels to dioceses and conferences presenting Wellness Programs and Health Fairs. Her presentation this year could be described as: A program to help you understand the need for being proactive in taking care of your health. Along with the latest information on diet and exercise, you will learn tips to help you put these things into practice. Come and learn a wealth of information to help you be a smart health care consumer and avoid being the victim of a medical mistake.
You will also learn some new techniques for decreasing stress in your life through a program called “SignChiDo, the Art of Moving Prayer.” SignChiDo is a medically based stress management, relaxation program that incorporates sign language with breathing, movement, intention and music. From a medical perspective, this program has beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system, circulatory system, endocrine system and digestive system. This workshop will include a progressive relaxation exercise that will leave you feeling calm and content from the inside out.
A presentation on the "Prevention of Sexual Harassment" will also be given during the program.
