Profiles with photos of the four nominees for the next bishop of Kentucky have now been published on the search and transition committee's Web site.
The nominees are the Rev. David Allen Boyd, the Very Rev. John Paul Downey, the Very Rev. W. Nicholas Knisely and the Very Rev. Terry Allen White.
The Bishop Search and Nominating Committee presented the slate of four nominees on Jan. 23 to the Standing Committee. Additional nominations by petition, which were to have been made by Feb. 12, have not been reported by the Standing Committee.
The nominees will visit the diocese in May for what is known as "walkabouts," forums to give the clergy and laity an opportunity to meet and question all of the candidates to be presented for election. The first forum will be Friday, April 14, at Grace Church, 216 E. Sixth St., Hopkinsville, and the second will be Saturday, April 15, at Christ Church Cathedral, 425 S. Second St., Louisville. Each will meet from 6 to 9 p.m.
The election will be held on June 5 at Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville, and the consecration will take place on Sept. 25 at the Galt House in Louisville. Additional information about the nominees and upcoming election will be available in coming days and on the Search/Nominating and Transition Committees Web pages at //bishopsearch.episcopalky.org/
