The Cathedral Church of the Advent, a large Episcopal parish in Birmingham that emphasizes the biblical theology of the Gospel, will host the conference Aug. 10-12 for student ministers, both college and youth, across all denominations, both congregational and para-church.
Confirmed speakers for the conference, entitled "Rooted: A Theology Conference for Student Ministry," include Dr. Ashley Null of Cambridge, England; Brian Habig of Greenville, SC; and Angel Richard of Beverly Hills, FL.

Recognizing a growing trend of focusing student ministry on moral rules and emotional highs, "Rooted" aims to encourage a movement to ministry emphasizing the development of a biblical, Gospel-centered worldview in students. Given that opportunities for theological development are limited and that most student ministry conferences concentrate on methodology, "Rooted" intends to equip student pastors with greater grounding in the Gospel, which will assist them in encouraging students to follow Jesus.
