Silent auction items wanted for fundraiser

Diocesan News & Publications

St. George's Community Center in Louisville will be celebrating its anniversary on Thursday, October 20, 2011, and the center's board of directors are currently soliciting items for the silent auction held during its annual celebration.

The celebration will again be held at the University of Louisville's Papa John's Stadium at 2800 S. Floyd St, beginning at 6 p.m. (EDT). It is a major fundraising event for the community center, which offers innovative, educational programs year-round for youth from the Parkland-Duvall neighborhood in western Louisville and has earned national recognition as a Freedom School site.

The success of the anniversary celebration is dependent not only upon ticket sales but also upon the proceeds from the silent auction. Items that are particularly popular are condominium stays and gift certificates to hotels and restaurants.

The center will provide all necessary paperwork to donors and is happy to pick up any items. For questions or additional information, please contact Gwen O'Dea, Board Vice-Chair, at (502) 262-0211.
