After 10 years of faithful service, Bishop David Reed has resigned as Chaplain to the Retired Clergy and Surviving Spouses. Bishop White has appointed the Rev. Dr. Georgine Buckwalter to succeed him. She began her duties on March 1.
The Chaplain is an extension of the Bishop's ministry, convening gatherings of the retired clergy of the diocese, facilitating communication, and offering pastoral support on the bishop's behalf. Buckwalter transitions to her new role following her own retirement from the Episcopal Church Home in November 2013. She is the 2013 recipient of the Wayne Oates Award, and a video of her presentation "Boomers: Aging and Pastoral Care" can be viewed here.
