Vacation Bible School Workshop set at Center for the Ministry of Teaching

Now’s the time to start planning next summer’s Vacation Bible School by spending time with the experts at the Center for the Ministry of Teaching in Alexandria, Va. Learn about using the rotation model, adapting or creating a curriculum of your own, or taking a whole new perspective by offering a program at night, for families, or other new venue.

The VBS Workshop, which will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 14, will be facilitated by Mary Jo Detweiler, the center’s librarian. Participating in a panel presentation will be the following:

• Tracey Herzer, executive director of LeaderResources (a publishing and consulting firm that specializes in educational resources for churches) and author of WorkshopCycles, a rotation Sunday School curriculum for children, and president of the National Association of Episcopal Christian education Directors;

• Day Dodson, a graduate of the Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE) program and long-time director of Christian education at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in the District of Columbia;

• Dorothy Linthicum, program coordinator for the CMT and adjunct instructor at Virginia Theological Seminary.
