Vigil, fundraiser set April 3 for victims of earthquake, tsunami

Interfaith Paths to Peace March 25, 2011

Interfaith Paths to Peace and other Louisville organizations will hold a vigil and concert Sunday, April 3 to honor the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and to raise funds for their assistance.

A Candle Lighting and Silent Vigil will be from 3 to 3:30 p.m. (EDT) at Unity of Louisville, 757 S. Brook St., Louisville. The concert from 3:30 to 5 p.m. will feature music, poetry, dance and more, including a musical Interlude by Karen Heins of Unity of Louisville; a welcome update on the status of the Japanese Saturday School; "Yell; Cheer up, Japan!" by the Japanese Saturday School; "Morgen" by violinist Michell Samson, pianist Rebecca Samson and Vocalist Kenji; and " Furusato" sung by all those present who know this song.

All proceeds will directly benefit victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
